Emerald Tree Boa

- This beautiful snake is vibrant green with white dorsal markings along its back.
- Emerald tree boas inhabit wet lowland rainforests of most of tropical South America particularly Suriname and Brazil.
- They have dozens of heat receptor pits along the top of their mouth used to detect any prey that is emitting infrared heat.
- Being totally arboreal, they are never encountered on the ground and they feed primarily on birds and small tree-dwelling mammals.
